Roberts Park Saltaire gets refurbished

Saltaire cricket club is possibly the only cricket club in the country to play in a world heritage site. This winter Roberts Park, the home of Saltaire Cricket Club has undergone a £4.5 million lottery funded refurbishment. The park has recently been returned to its former glory and will be unveiled in an opening ceremony to be held on the 22nd May 2010.

Originally, the Park was to be unveiled around Easter, but due to the freezing weather conditions over the winter this date was put on hold. The work that has been carried out includes the rebuilding of the bandstand and an extensive renovatioon of the half moon cafe. As well as the buildings, the park grounds have also had a makeover, with flowerbeds being replanted and a number of shelters being restored.
